Who We Are
Rania H. Younis, B.D.S., M.D.S., Ph.D.
Dr. Younis is specialized in oral & maxillofacial pathology. Most of her cases are related to ulcerations of the oral cavity, red and white lesions, soft tissue lesions of the oral cavity, central lesions of the jawbones, and salivary gland lesions. Dr. Younis provides management of reactive, inflammatory, and autoimmune conditions, to benign and malignant tumors.
Dr. Younis is a former clinical associate professor and program director of the advanced program in oral and maxillofacial pathology, Department of Oncology and Diagnostic Sciences, University of Maryland School of Dentistry. She also served as an adjunct faculty at the Department of Pathology, University of Maryland School of Medicine.
Dr. Younis likes helping patients with oral lesions to address their complains. Her approach is thorough medical history taking, clinical exam, conservative treatment and follow up. Dr. Younis also provides screening for oral cancer and follow up of oral potentially malignant lesions.
Dr. Younis has several peer reviewed publications and currently serves as a guest editor in Frontiers of Oral Health, on the understanding of oral cancer development and the response of our immune system, with the ultimate goal of early detection, and prevention of the disease.
Dr. Younis lives in Howard county with her husband and three kids. In her free time, she likes walking trails, hiking, and biking. She also likes playing tennis, chess, gardening and baking.
